Candlemas

If Candlemas Day be fair and bright,
Winter will take another flight.
But if Candlemas Day bring clouds and rain,
Winter is gone and will not come again.

If Candlemas Day be mild and gay,
Go saddle your horses, and buy them hay;
But if Candlemas Day be stormy and black
It carries the winter away on its back.

Our day was clear and mild, bright and very warm. I guess I won't put away the winter clothing just yet! But it was nice to have a respite from the arctic freeze.

Today we painted clothes pin candles.

And a little fire sprite found his way in there as well!

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick,
Jack jump over the candle stick.
